is a heavy Metal band formed in 1999 in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While the three original founding members are no longer in the band, A Life Once Lost has continued to make music and are currently signed with Ferret Records. There has been some dispute about their genre, with some critics saying that they are a Deathcore band, and the band themselves describes their sound as "technical groove metal"[1]. Critics have suggested this use of technical groove-oriented polyrhythms to be heavily influenced by the Swedish tech metal band Meshuggah. The IRON GAG album sees the band taking on more of a Rock/Metal sound.

They were on the second stage at Ozzfest 2006 alongside Black Label Society, Atreyu, Unearth, Bleeding Through, Norma Jean, The Red Chord, Walls of Jericho, All That Remains, Bad Acid Trip, Full Blown Chaos, Between The Buried And Me, and Strapping Young Lad.
